FMBG stand for Friday Morning Birding Group. It was associated with the Massachusetts Audubon Society. It still exists today.
This is a birding group that roams around Massachusetts. Ann was an avid member for about 10 years in the late 80′s into the 90′s. Many of the pages I am documenting have the initials FMBG with the date written underneath at the top right of each page.
One of the ‘packs’ the FMBG members agreed on was to not use any erasers and use only permanent ink pens on the drawings in their sketch books. This put the pressure on them to learn how to draw well. She says that everybody’s drawing skills improved dramatically. It is obvious that her’s certainly did! Mum only used a fine tip indelible felt tip pen.
